ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Metro Transit is introducing new technology in hopes of making rides “smoother, faster, and more secure” for patrons.
In a press release on Thursday, Metro Transit listed several upgrades to its systems - some of which have already been installed.
As part of the upgrades, new fare validators have already been installed on Metro buses and will soon be installed at the MetroLink station gates. The new validators consist of a “tap-and-go” design to try to create a more seamless boarding experience.
New ticket vending machines and the Ride On Smart Card are also being introduced. The Ride on Smart Card is a reloadable card for ongoing Metro Transit use.
Metro is also adding a new Ride On App that they say will allow patrons to buy tickets for both MetroBus
