Plymouth war veteran Ben McBean was left appalled after a simple trip to Tesco for chocolate and beer quickly turned into a racist nightmare.

Sharing a video with social media, the former Royal Marine shared how he met his brother-in-law in a Tesco car park before an older woman told him to "get the f*** out of my country".

Ben told followers on X how he had pulled up at Tesco when he saw his brother-in-law drive past. After exchanging a greeting, Ben said he went to shake his hand, but opted for a fist-bump instead.

"Yo," Ben started. "So I pulled up at Tesco, got out my car to get some chocolate and a couple of beers, actually. And I bumped into my brother-in-law, who was driving past."
