A busy road in the city centre is partially closed after a crash this evening (Thursday, October 16). Charles Street is currently closed near Charles Cross Roundabout.

A witness has told PlymouthLive multiple police vehicles are in the area. They said: "At least six police cars are rushing down Exeter Street."

Roads and traffic monitoring site, Inrix, reported the crash at 5.12pm. It said: "A374 Charles Street eastbound closed, queueing traffic due to accident at Exeter Street. On the roundabout."

The extent of the crash is not clear at this tine. Emergency services have been contacted for further information.
