Cases of sexual offenses against children in India have increased by 94 percent from 2017 to 2022. Cases registered under the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act have increased from 33,210 to 64,469.
The report stated that despite increasing numbers, the conviction rate remains above 90 percent, which demonstrates strong legal action and reporting systems.
