A CBI FIR has exposed allegations against Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar for demanding a bribe under the guise of “service water”. According to the FIR, DIG Bhullar allegedly used a middleman to demand Rs 8 lakh from a businessman to settle a pending case.

He was arrested red-handed by CBI and was arrested.

Allegation via middleman

The FIR, filed at the Chandigarh CBI police station, states that on October 11, Akash Batta from Fatehgarh Sahib’s Mandi Gobindgarh complained that DIG Bhullar, through his middleman Krishna, demanded a bribe. In return, Bhullar allegedly promised no police action in FIR number 155 registered against Batta in 2023 at Sirhind, allowing him to operate his scrap business without obstruction. DIG
