HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Contract negotiations for bus drivers continued Wednesday between the Oahu Transit Services and the Hawaii Teamsters and Allied Workers, Local 996 union.

The negotiations over a new contract for bus drivers, mechanics, and staff stalled Monday after a dispute over a possible strike threat .

The union claims the strike scare was a “scare tactic ," and said that OTS refused to respond to their full bargaining package, and for the second time refused to respond to our wage, pension, and hazard pay proposals.

The two sides met again Tuesday night and Wednesday, and both sides say they’ve made some progress.
