At least two people were injured overnight in the Ukrainian city of Nizhyn, after a Russian strike drone attack.

According to regional administration in Chernihiv, the attack on Wednesday night damaged a residential high-rise, a store, and a post office.

In Chernihiv itself, the Russian attack sparked fire in an unspecified production site, regional head Viacheslav Chaus wrote on Telegram.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia used over 300 drones and 37 missiles in attacks on Ukraine's energy and civilian infrastructure on Wednesday night.

Ukraine's national energy operator, Ukrenergo, says emergency blackouts were introduced in eight Ukrainian regions as of Thursday morning due to previous Russian attacks at energy infrastructure: Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyi, and Cherkasy.

The company also said it might introduce limits of energy use for industrial consumers across entire Ukraine if the situation deteriorates.

DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company, announced halting its natural gas extraction in Poltava region after Russia attacked its infrastructure last night.

The company didn't provide more detail, saying both missiles and drones were used in Russian strike.

The company also announced emergency blackouts in Kyiv and its region.
