BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. (WNDU) - No charges are being filed after a perceived threat led to the cancellation of last Friday’s varsity football game between Benton Harbor and Berrien Springs.

According to our reporting partners at The Herald-Palladium , the Oct. 10 game at Berrien Springs High School was canceled after police received information about a “non-specific threat.”

Berrien Springs-Oronoko Township Police Chief Paul Toliver said they received information from a Berrien Springs juvenile three hours before the game. In turn, school administrators decided to cancel the game out of an abundance of caution.

According to The Herald-Palladium, an adult from the Benton Harbor area was brought in for questioning, but police said there was insufficient evidence to pursue charges.
