Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has issued a notice to the state government in response to a petition challenging the decision to shift the First Additional Civil Judge and JMFC Court from Udupi to Brahmavar.
The public interest litigation (PIL) was filed by Renald Praveen Kumar, president of the Udupi Bar Association, and came up for hearing before a division bench headed by Chief Justice Prasanna B. Varale and Justice C.M. Poonacha on Thursday.
After a brief hearing, the bench issued notices to the Department of Law, the Department of Finance, and the Registrar General of the High Court, seeking their response. The matter has been adjourned to January 9, 2026, for further hearing.
