A COVID-19 outbreak on Sault Area Hospital ’s 1B Unit has limited visiting to essential caregivers only.

When a unit is declared to be in outbreak, staff will determine any changes to the unit’s essential caregiver and visitor guidance, SAH says on its website.

“These decisions will be made thoughtfully, balancing the patient’s needs with the associated risks,” the hospital says.

Unit staff will communicate any changes directly to families, SAH said on social media.
