Spooky season has arrived, which makes it the perfect time for a show about ghosts to return to television.

The fifth season of the hit CBS comedy "Ghosts" premieres on the network on Thursday, Oct. 16 and will be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+, according to CBS.

The series centers on Samantha and Jay, a freelance journalist and chef from the city, who decide to convert a mansion inherited by Samantha into a bed & breakfast, only to find it inhabited by the "many spirits of deceased residents who now call it home," according to the show's official description on CBS' website.

The ghosts are a close-knit group and include a Prohibition-era lounge singer, a 1960s hippie fond of hallucinogens and a cod-obsessed Viking explorer from 1009, among many others.
