CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - The Cedar Rapids Kernels have a new General Manager, and it’s a face that’s been with the team.
Sean Brandhorst will take over the position, after former GM Scott Wilson announced he was stepping down.
Before his role as General Manager, Brandhorst served as the Kernels’ Assistant General Manager this past season. Before that he was the Midwest National Director at Perfect Game USA.
Brandhorst grew up in Central City and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa.
His professional baseball career included stints with ESPN Wide World of Sports, the Atlanta Braves, and overseeing and managing NCAA Baseball Tournaments at Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee, Florida. From there, he led stadium operations and helped with roster development with a Summer Co
