Former Wolves defender Kevin Muscat is set to take the reins at Rangers, following successful negotiations over a multi-year contract in the past 48 hours.

The Ibrox side are now discussing a compensation package with Shanghai Port.

Muscat, 52, is not expected to make his move to Glasgow until next month, after the conclusion of the Chinese Super League.

Currently leading Shanghai Port to the top of the table, Muscat aims to guide them to another title before his departure.

He is anticipated to bring along his coaches Ross Aloisi and Vince Lerardo to Scotland, reports the Daily Record .
