Konstantinos "Kosta" Diamantis, a former state deputy budget director, is on trial accused of demanding bribes from construction firms in exchange for state contracts.

On Wednesday, prosecutors wrapped up their case and an FBI agent who said Diamantis lied to investigators testified.

Prosecutors dropped a charge on allegations of lying to investigators. They felt they could no longer prove that charge after testimony last week from Tolland’s superintendent.

Diamantis is expected to take the stand on Thursday. He told the judge that he understands his rights and testifying is his decision.
