The former associate director of the Thames Valley District school board has been charged with mail theft after a letter containing allegations of misconduct by her and other board officials was stolen, London police say.

A Thames Valley employee responsible for sorting mail noticed several Canada Post envelopes with similar handwriting addressed to different staff members between July 22 and Aug. 9, 2024, London police said.

The worker reported the letters to a supervisor, who told the staffer to open one of the envelopes, despite it not being addressed to them, police said.

The letter contained anonymous allegations of misconduct by board “authorities,” including the supervisor, who directed the employee to shred the opened letter and hold the remaining ones, police said.
