AXTELL, Texas — Waco Fire Department crews are assisting multiple agencies with a large structure fire in the 1800 block of Longhorn Parkway in Axtell, officials said Thursday.

According to a post from the Waco Fire Department, firefighters responded to the scene around 12 p.m. to provide mutual aid for what was described as a “major emergency fire.”

Details about the extent of the damage, the type of structure involved, or any possible injuries have not been revealed at this time. Crews from nearby departments are also on scene, working to contain the blaze. Drivers are asked to avoid the area while emergency personnel continue operations.
