Ryan Babel has admitted one of his former team-mates was the 'tenant from hell' after renting his Merseyside home out.

Babel was just 19 at the time, going on to spend three-and-a-half years at Anfield.

After making 146 appearances for the club, he left for Hoffenheim in January 2011.

Later that year, his compatriot Royston Drenthe completed a loan move to Everton from Real Madrid .

The pair had played together for the Netherlands at both youth and senior level, including at the 2008 Olympics.

As a result, Babel rented out his house to Drenthe during his time with the Toffees.
