“We’re doing everything we can to help them recover and to make sure they are welcomed and supported,” said State Emergency Operations Center incident commander Mark Roberts

Hundreds of people are being evacuated from several small villages in Alaska that were devastated by a fatal storm.

The state of Alaska was asked to help evacuate more than 1,000 people from the many villages impacted by the remnants of Typhoon Halong, according to The Associated Press .
