Flu season has arrived 'early', according to health bosses who urged anyone with four key symptoms to 'stay home'.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) said hospitalisations and positive tests were increasing as it urged eligible groups urged to get vaccinated.

Everyone over 65, pregnant, or in a clinical risk group has been encouraged to book their flu vaccination appointment.

The UKHSA also urged parents to sign and return consent forms to schools, or to book a vaccination appointment for 2-3-year-olds.
