A phone call with Tom Brady convinced Marvin Ducksch that he was making the right decision to swap the Bundesliga for the Championship.

Ducksch joined Birmingham City on a three-year contract in August as one of 12 players the club recruited following promotion to the Championship.

The two-time Germany international had plenty of top flight interest after a goal-laden four years at Werder Bremen but decided to try his hand in England’s second tier.

Understandably, some doubted why a striker recently capped by Germany would entertain a spell in the Championship, but Ducksch gained clarity from a conversation with seven-time Super Bowl winner and minority Blues investor Brady.
