WHITE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Two people were taken into custody following the discovery of a marijuana plant and multiple drugs during a traffic stop in White County early Thursday morning.

According to the White County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Alexander Mullins stopped a yellow pickup truck shortly after 3:45 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16 at Burgess Falls Road and Old Cookeville Road because the vehicle wasn't staying in its lane and its registration had expired in September.

Mullins approached the passenger's side of the truck and noticed a strong smell of marijuana, officials said. Then, when the deputy explained the reason for the stop and asked for the driver's license and registration, the driver reportedly couldn't produce a license.
