WHITE COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - Two people were arrested after a traffic stop led to a drug bust early Thursday morning, according to the White County Sheriff’s Office.

WCSO reports that a deputy pulled over a yellow pickup truck near Burgess Falls Road and Old Cookeville Road just before 4 a.m. Thursday for failing to maintain its lane and an expired vehicle registration.

When the deputy approached the passenger side of the vehicle, he reportedly noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the truck.

The deputy asked the driver for his license, but he was unable to produce one, WCSO said. It was confirmed a short time later that the driver’s license was suspended.
