Hailey Creisher didn't have visions of running in college when she began her high school cross country career as a freshman.

But the running aspirations started to change as a junior in 2024 for Creisher as she made big gains and saw her times make significant drops while emerging as one of the best distant runners in Greater Lansing.

That's when Creisher figured running in college would be a logical next step for her future.

And the Leslie senior now has found a home to do just that.

Creisher, who was voted the latest LSJ girls high school athlete of the week winner, made a verbal commitment to continue her running career at Central Michigan on Wednesday, Oct. 15.

"It's such an amazing opportunity and I'm so excited to further my running career and develop as a runner," Creisher said
