INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) - An Independence man faces two felonies for his role in a 2024 road rage shooting.

Ellis Teter is charged in Jackson County with one count of armed criminal action and one count of unlawful use of a weapon following a shooting in May 2024.

Court documents filed Wednesday claim Teter and a co-defendant were involved in a verbal dispute in the drive-thru of a McDonald’s on May 26, 2024, which ultimately resulted in shots being fired on 24 Highway.

Independence Police Department officers were dispatched to 24 Highway and N. Jennings Road just before midnight.
