On Saturday millions of Americans all over the country will rally to declare a “No Kings” Day.

Our country is deeply divided.

The current administration is bent on enacting radical and polarizing changes for which they have no mandate. Institutions that protect our environment, that educate and inform citizens, that set limits on corporate malfeasance are being curtailed or abolished. Changes are forced on the public— not through a democratic legislative process, as the Constitution demands— but through an unprecedented expansion of executive power.

The philosophy is literally that of “shock and awe.” So people are standing up and exercising a long standing tradition of peaceful protest.

Yet this administration uses violent language, lies and derision to mischaracterize the loyalty
