HAYS, Kan. (KSNW) -- The Hays Symphony will be performing its annual children's Halloween concert next weekend.
The free event begins with pre-concert activities at 1:30 p.m., followed by the concert at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center in Sheridan Hall on the Fort Hays State University campus.
The concert will feature composer Sergei Prokofiev's 1936 classic, "Peter and the Wolf." The composition was created explicitly by Prokofiev to introduce children to various musical instruments by assigning distinct musical instruments and themes to each character in the story.
The performance will be narrated by David Macey, dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Fort Hays State University, who will guide listeners through the stor
