Robbers target victims at Chicago’s Millennium Park, Grant Park

A series of more than a dozen robberies have targeted victims at multiple Chicago landmarks, including Millennium Park and Grant Park.

According to an alert from Chicago police on Thursday, the robberies have occurred at both parks, as well as in the Loop and New Eastside neighborhoods.

In all, at least 17 robberies have been reported since early August.

In each robbery, multiple suspects approach a victim who is by themselves. Using “physical force,” the robbers then steal a victim’s property, typically a gold chain or necklace, according to police.

The robberies were reported at the following locations:

1100 block of S. Columbus on August 1, 2025 at 9:30 p.m. (Grant Park)

200 block of E. Balbo on August 2, 2025 at 9:45 p.m. (Grant Park)

300 block of S. Columbus on August 11, 2025
