CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - The 12th annual U.S. Grant Symposium is set for November in Cape Girardeau.

The symposium will be at 9 a.m. on Friday, November 7 at 401 Independence Street.

The Kellerman Foundation for Historic Preservation will host the free event.

According to organizers, it will explore Ulysses S. Grant’s early military command in southeast Missouri and his legacy as a Union general and 18th president of the United States.

The symposium will feature historians, Grant scholars and Civil War enthusiasts.
