WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — U.S. Capitol Police are investigating how an American flag with a swastika on it got into Rep. Dave Taylor's (R-Ohio) office, according to Politico .
Taylor's office called the "vile and deeply inappropriate symbol" in a statement released on Wednesday. Politico obtained photos of the flag hanging on a cubicle wall beside a pocket Constitution and a congressional calendar.
“The content of that image does not reflect the values or standards of this office, my staff, or myself, and I condemn it in the strongest terms," Taylor wrote in a statement . "Upon learning of this matter, I immediately directed a thorough investigation alongside Capitol Police, which remains ongoing.”
In the statement, the first-time congressman also called the symbol an act of "vandalism."
