GREENBELT, Maryland >> John Bolton, Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, was indicted today, CNN reported, citing two sources.

The indictment marks the third time in recent weeks that the Justice Department has secured criminal charges against one of the Republican president’s critics.

The indictment comes after court documents made public last month revealed that Bolton was under federal investigation for potential mishandling classified information. The CNN report did not say what Bolton had been charged with.

A lawyer for Bolton has previously denied that Bolton engaged in wrongdoing.
