ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — It looks like a tragic scene: a car rammed halfway through the front window of a Rochester home. But this is all part of the State Fire Administration’s annual training, which helps first responders prepare for real disasters.

The training provides simulations of real-world challenges they may face. There were several different training sites across the city, each depicting the aftermath of a natural weather disaster.

“The scenario that we laid out for this exercise is that a tornado came through the Rochester area, so we have a car that was thrown into a building, with severe structural compromise to the building.
