Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey underwent an arthroscopic procedure to relieve right knee discomfort on Thursday, the team announced.

The minimally invasive procedure and discomfort — unrelated to the fibula injury that ended Ivey’s season early this year — will hold Ivey out of the beginning of the 2025-26 season after he missed the last two preseason games for the Pistons.

Ivey will be re-evaluated in four weeks, according to a release.

“It’s obviously tough for him, and that’s what you feel more than anything. Obviously, going through what he went through last year and then working his way back and then having this happen to him, you know, it’s frustrating for him,” coach J.B. Bickerstaff said Thursday.
