A raid at a car wash in Hamden by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents is stirring up emotions in the community.

On Wednesday morning, eight adults were taken into custody by ICE agents during a raid at Optimo Car Wash on Dixwell Avenue, according to Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett.

Ana Gonzalez, a neighbor of the car wash, shared her concerns about the way the operation was handled.

"They were screaming, they were confused, the girls, it happened too fast, they didn't give them a chance to say hello, who are you, what's your name, they just started taking them," Gonzalez said.
