BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With Bowling Green and Warren County issuing a proclamation declaring it World Food Day, one nonprofit is stepping up to help those who provide free food to the hungry.

St. Teresa Ministries gave out grants on Thursday totaling over $130,000 to four groups on the front lines of fighting food insecurity here locally.

The St. Joseph Conference of St. Vincent de Paul received over $56,000 to help provide food and emergency assistance to individuals and families in need. In accepting the grant, Susan Crabbe said one woman fainted when she was there in line for food.
