EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State men’s basketball held its annual media day on Thursday, and Tom Izzo and the Spartans spoke about their excitement for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

Michigan State is ranked No. 22 in the Associated Press Top 25 preseason poll and will once again play a very tough schedule this season, highlighted by non-conference matchups vs. No. 6 Duke, No. 9 Kentucky, No. 14 Arkansas, and No. 25 North Carolina; and conference games vs. No. 1 Purdue, No. 17 Illinois, No. 24 Wisconsin, and two against No. 7 Michigan.

Michigan State kicks off its season with two exhibition games, Oct. 23 vs. Bowling Green and Oct. 28 at No. 4 UConn, followed by the Spartans’ regular season opener vs. Colgate on Nov. 3.
