ST. FRANCIS COUNTY, Ark. (WMC) - Arkansas State Police is searching for an unknown driver who hit and killed an 18-year-old roadside assistance technician in St. Francis County.
The deadly hit-and-run happened Friday, October 10, on I-40 near Jennette, Arkansas. ASP has identified the deceased as Jacob Allen Marquis, of Marked Tree.
Marquis, who state police say worked at a nearby business, was reportedly dispatched to repair a tire for a vehicle near the 262-mile marker of I-40.
ASP says he arrived at the scene at 8:36 p.m. that night.
Two hours later, ASP received a call reporting that a person appeared to be lying in the right lane of the interstate, with a service truck parked nearby on the shoulder with flashing hazard lights.
Responding troopers found Marquis dead at the scene a
