FORT WORTH, Texas — American Airlines is marking 100 years of flight with a stylish nod to its past, and a bold look toward the future.

With its centennial just six months away, the Fort Worth-based carrier unveiled plans for a special-edition livery that will soon take to the skies on a Boeing 777-300ER. The aircraft, registered as N735AT, is scheduled to begin flying in November and features a design that blends one of American’s original paint schemes with modern touches and a newly upgraded interior.

“American has thoughtfully chosen a design that evokes our rich history while looking ahead to our next 100 years,” said Ron DeFeo, American’s Chief Communications Officer.
