SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) -- The Chair of Sumner County’s Library Board is taking one last stand in support of a controversial policy.
Joanna Daniels has tried and failed to ban certain books from the county’s five public libraries.
Among her proposed changes: the removal of any materials deemed inappropriate or sexually-explicit, including anything with transgender themes. Unfazed by public pushback, Daniels is now trying a third time to get the policy passed.
On Tuesday, the policy was back on the agenda, but half of the eight board members did not attend the meeting.
Without a quorum, a vote was not allowed.
“I’m rescheduling this meeting, I just want y’all to know. It will be rescheduled because I have that authority to do that,” said Daniels.
