Welcome to the post-season, Joey Loperfido.

With the on-again, off-again back woes dogging the Blue Jays’ Anthony Santander during these playoffs, the team has removed the veteran switch-hitter from its lineup in advance of Thursday’s Game 4 of the American League Championship Series in Seattle.

In his place, utility man Joey Loperfido has been asserted into the Jays roster.

The roster substitution was approved by Major League Baseball after a request was made by the Jays because of injury. Loperfido is now available for the remainder of the best-of-seven series against the Mariners.

By rule, however, Santander will be ineligible not just for this round, but for the World Series, should the Jays advance.
