BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football coach Curt Cignetti received a hero's welcome when he walked through the doors at Hoosier Hanks on Thursday night for his weekly radio show fresh off signing a new long term contract that will keep him in Bloomington.
It was standing room only at the establishment that's hosted the show since last year.
Cignetti's new deal raises his average annual compensation to $11.6 million through 2033 and makes him one of the top five paid coaches in the Big Ten . He previously agreed to a new contract with the school during the team's historic 10-0 start last season that nearly doubled his salary to $8 million a year.
