LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man faces charges of murder and attempted murder after a Sunday shooting that left his wife dead and his son with a gunshot wound to the leg at an apartment in the northwest Las Vegas valley.

Christopher Wood, 53, is accused in the shootings and remains in the Clark County Detention Center without bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Oct. 20, at 8 a.m.

A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department report describes an argument that erupted in gunfire, and a shootout between father and son at the apartment in the 1600 block of Burning Wood Lane, along Vegas Drive between Rainbow Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive.

As the wife, Tia Jurago, and Wood argued on Sunday afternoon about a business they owned together, the son decided to avoid the situation, saying
