New Yorkers know it, love it and miss it: Snapple in glass bottles, which is making a limited return to NYC to pay tribute to its Brooklyn birthplace.
"Few things are more nostalgic than the beloved Snapple Glass Bottle. From the famous Snapple Lady to the regular guest spot on Seinfeld episodes, Snapple has been a staple in households for decades," the company said in a statement.
According to Snapple, the promotion is "all about a hometown hero returning." Snapple's limited-edition glass bottles are available at select retailers and local bodegas in the New York area from October to December or while supplies last.
The company, now known as Keurig Dr. Pepper, switched the bottles from glass to plastic following the 2018 deal.
Here's what to know, including where you can get an OG Snapple bottle, or two.

Why did Snapple phase glass bottles out?
Snapple began to phase out its glass bottles and metal caps, best known for making the signature “pop," out of a desire to be more sustainable.
"We first started by evaluating the design of our bottles and looking for areas where we could reduce the weight and the amount of material we were using," according to Snapple.
Snapple began phasing out glass bottles in 2017, followed by a "complete phase-out" in 2021. As of Oct. 31, 2020, all of Snapple's products are made with "100% recycled PET (rPET)."
