FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCBD) - After years under Mayor Tim Goodwin's leadership, the City of Folly Beach is heading in a new direction.

On Thursday night, five candidates vying to take his place met face-to-face in front of voters.

The forum, hosted by the Folly Beach Civic Club and the Charleston chapter of the League of Women Voters, featured News 2's Carolyn Murray as moderator, posing several questions to all five candidates.

DJ Rich, Katherine Houghton, Ann Peets, Chris Bizzell, and Elton Culpepper are each hoping to succeed longtime Mayor Tim Goodwin.

The night's discussion touched on what candidates thought were the most important duties of the mayor.
