STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 49-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the leg Thursday night in Stapleton, police said.

The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. in the vicinity of Bay and Broad streets, according to a spokeswoman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.
