Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy and his wife, Rajya Sabha MP and noted author Sudha Murty, have declined to participate in the Karnataka government’s ongoing social, educational, and economic survey - popularly known as the caste census.

Enumerators who visited the Murthys’ residence in Jayanagar were reportedly informed that the couple would not take part in the exercise. “Sorry, we will not be participating in this survey,” the couple said politely but firmly, according to officials involved in the enumeration process.
