Max Scherzer was a man on a mission for the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday night.

Making his first start of the postseason, Scherzer gave a vintage performance, giving up just two runs through 5.2 innings in what was an 87-pitch outing. The great outing helped the Blue Jays defeat the Seattle Mariners 8-2 to square the ALCS up at two apiece.

To no surprise, Mad Max was fully on display in this one, as he was every bit as intense as fans expected. No moment sums that up more so than a mound visit from John Schneider in the fifth inning, where the Blue Jays skipper looked like he was going to go to the bullpen.

The 41-year-old wasn’t having it, as he was spotted yelling at Schneider and wound up staying in the game. He went on to strike out Randy Arozarena immediately afterward to get out
