DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Across the nation and in the Northland, women are ushering industries to new heights, like aviation and welding, while igniting the trades with their impressive work.

Duluth native Taran Dimberio, a 20-year-old aviator, feels most amazed behind the control panel.

“It’s just me behind the plane, and I’m flying,” said Taran, describing the connection she feels in the air.

The feeling takes her back to when she was 7 years old, when she took her first flight to Disney World. But, for Dimberio, the real magic wasn’t in the theme park; it was in the skies.

“My favorite part of the entire trip was the plane ride. The flight attendants gave me little wings, “ recalled Dimberio. “I thought I was the coolest girl in the world.”
