The Skyview slowpitch softball team knows when and how to flip a switch.
On multiple occasions this season against rival Union, the Storm shook off slow starts at the plate and turned a game in the blink of an eye when their bats heated up.
“One person starts it,” senior Dylan Yates said, “and we all just kind of connect from there.”
Facing a 1-0 deficit in Thursday’s Class 4A District 4 championship after Union’s Sophia Rickard hit a solo home run, the Storm rallied for six runs in the fifth inning and held the Titans to four hits to earn their second straight district title in a 9-1 win. Both teams advanced to the 4A state tournament Oct. 24-25 in Yakima.
“Our thing this year is ‘all in,'” Skyview senior Nivayah Henry said. “It just takes one person for us to get started, and after t
