Dexter’s history remains unknown, but the fact that he was left alone on Jones Beach in New York during one of the coldest times of year speaks volumes.

Stranded with no shelter and no one to care for him, Dexter wandered the shoreline, frightened and unsure of where to go.

His luck changed when a passerby noticed him and stopped to help.

As soon as the car door opened, Dexter jumped inside without hesitation. For the first time in days, he felt safe, knowing he wouldn’t have to endure another night in the bitter cold.

Hoping Each Day For A Family To Stay

Dexter was taken to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter located in Wantagh, New York. From the beginning, he longed for a home where he could feel secure and loved.
