Delhi is transitioning into the colder months as the capital recorded its lowest minimum temperature of 18.1 degrees Celsius on Thursday, even as the worry of a declining air quality index looms ahead of Diwali.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast mainly clear skies for today, with minimum and maximum temperatures likely to be around 19 and 31 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Meanwhile, the AQI in the capital remained in the 'poor' category for the third consecutive day ahead of Diwali, and with favourable weather conditions and the Supreme Court approving use of green crackers this year, the situation may worsen after the festival.
